I agree that this topic dosen't get the airtime it deserve. Another important point is to fully automate the user provisioning and this process change will probably 'pay' the whole IAM project where companies will reduce the administration cost and will see an increase in user productivity. I have seen companies where it takes weeks to provisioning users due to a manuell or semi-manuell process. Automating these kind of procesees the time can reduced to hours.
